Here's what went down at today's meeting in case you weren't there.
  • We had plenty of Zoom attendees, Joe and Wendy Guyton, Ed Treick, Jim Fry, Harvey Smith, Gordon Wainwright, Linda Bradner, and Liese Razzeto all were present.
  • We had Pat Patton, our District International Services Chair in person as a visiting Rotarian.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  • John Howard reminded us that there is a desperate need for hygiene items for IMPACT. Please bring what you can to every meeting.
  • Thanks to Bill and Diane Demeroutis, John and Linda Howards, Ken and Leslie Castner and Tom Schellenberger for cleaning up America Ave on Saturday.
  • 150 food bags were packed at IMPACT on Wednesday by Bill and Diane Demeroutis and John and Monica Oszust.
  • DG Don Jorgensen will be leading a Rotary Friendship Exchange to India in February. There is room for 8 individuals. For details, see John Oszust.
  • John also reminded us that there are 2 additional Rotary Friendship Exchanges to Cambodia in January and February. See him for details on this or click the link in the newsletter.
  • There has been a relief fund set up by District 5000 for the fire victims of Maui. If you wish to donate, click here. Donate (paypal.com)
  • Several members are visiting the Rotary Club of Tucson next Wednesday at noon to get a taste of other club's meetings. If you wish to attend, contact John Oszust. RSVP to him before 4 PM Friday. A buffet lunch is available for $35 if you want to eat at the meeting. 
  • Paul Herr gave a very interesting and amusing bio, pics included.
  • Our speaker was Dan Watson who presented on a project on this year's list. "Build a House in a Day" with a 501(c)(3) called Corazon. Our plan is to muster support from other clubs in the district and travel to Tecate Mexico to assemble a whole house for a needy family in just a single day.   • Join us next week when we will her from Darien Matthews on the Arizona Youth Partnership  which provides youth services such as prevention programs and health education related to substance abuse, homelessness, human trafficking, mental helth awareness, teen pregnancy and family dynamics.
