7/27/23
We had a fun and busy meeting on Thursday. If you couldn't get there, here's what went down.
  • Diane Demeroutis gave her biography that covered the many aspects of her life including an extensive history of fashion design.
  • Community Service needs way more help and volunteers. Please contact John or Linda Howard at ldhoward20@comcast.net if you can help with OCC, IMPACT or highway cleanup or other important programs. Hygiene items are still needed.
  • Next week there's a Community Service meeting following our regular meeting.
  • There's also a Fore for Kids meeting after next week's regular meeting.
  • Wanda Bailey received her PH level 4 pin.
  • Keith Gordon was inducted as our first new member of the new Rotary Year.
  • Leo Lawrenson from ShelterBox was our guest speaker. He highlighted all the areas that ShelterBox is active and has assisted people displaced by conflict or disaster.
  • SHELTEBOX was presented with a $3000 check bringing our Club up to a Silver Level supporter.
  • NEXT WEEK SPEAKER will be Jennifer Herbest Calvillo of Ejaad Afghanistan, an empowerment project to foster social change for illiterate and semi-literate disadvantages Afghan women.
  • Kristi Halverson's ticket was picked for the 50/50 but sorry, no joker.
The best way to stay in touch with everyone and get the real news on goings-on is to attend meetings. But, if you can't be sure to read these summaries, visit our website, www.saddlebrookerotary.com, read our weekly newsletters and bulletins and visit RotaryD5500.org for news beyond our Club.
