If you missed Rotary this week here is a recap for Thursday November 16, 2023
 
The room was full on Thursday with 53 members and guests in attendance.  Our guests were:

Kim Johnson was officially inducted to the club by membership chair Diane Demeroutis.
 
President John kicked off this week of Thanksgiving by giving thanks to this weeks volunteers:
  • Elaine Terry for the donations of oral hygiene items.
  • The Bill and Diane Demeroutis, Ken Castner for OCC Thanksgiving Luncheon
  • John and Linda Howard for Veterans Day Celebration in Oracle on Saturday
  • Monica Oszust, Kim Johnson, Leslie Castner, Kristi Halverson and Jan Close Rotary Ranch Boutique, which raised $1,000 for the Corizon project

We are in our club’s busiest time of the year, we need volunteers:
  • Sign up for greeters and Rotary Inspiration to Leslie Hawkins and Wanda Bailey
  • Hygiene items for IMPACT are still needed. Collection will continue at every meeting.
COMMUNITY SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • American Avenue Roadside Clean-up in Oracle. – November 18, 2023 Change of location to meet – Now the OCC. . Food will be served at the OCC afterwards. 
  • Thanksgiving Turkey and Sides Distribution - Location:  Santa Catalina Catholic Church. Time:  11:50A – 2:30P. Wear a hat and comfortable shoes. What we will be doing:  Check in Families, Traffic Control and Distribution of food bags. Could use a couple more volunteers – See John
  • Fueling the Future - Food and $ donation collection runs from Nov 24 to Dec 15. Will send email with collection locations, both at SB and The Ranch.

Our program today was Anne Harman, from the Rotary Club of Tucson Sunrise shared her clubs international project that produced a board game to educate children in Kenya about HIV.  This project is the result of a Rotary International Global Grant. 
 
There was much excitement (and many tickets sold) for our weekly 50/50 drawing.  No winner this week We are down to 3 cards, so you won’t want to miss our next drawing
