This week's speaker is Brian Watson, Community Outreach Specialist, with Resources/Outreach to Safeguard the Elderly (R.O.S.E).  R.O.S.E. seeks to create change by providing awareness of financial scams that typically target the older adult population. There has been a drastic increase in the amount of reported financial losses and their goal is to not only reduce the amount of financial losses but also reduce the number of victims.
 
Brian spent 28 years in Federal Law Enforcement investigating financial crimes as a Special Agent with IRS Criminal Investigation. He spent much of that time as a Public Information Officer warning the public about financial related scams. He was so impressed by R.O.S.E., he decided to join the team. As a Community Outreach Specialist, Brian partners with the media, law enforcement, and others to share the great work done by R.O.S.E.

Brian graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in Business/Economics and is a licensed (although currently inactive) Certified Public Accountant in California. Brian and his family have lived in Arizona almost 20 years. He enjoys hiking, backpacking, and exploring the State of Arizona.
