A SPECIAL GIFT
The timing couldn't have been better. On December 24th our Foundation received a very special surprise. Our member and Foundation Chairman, Tom Turriff made a substantial donation to the Saddlebrooke Rotary Club Foundation's unrestricted fund. This donation is the single largest donation that our Foundation has ever received. It is Tom's hope that these funds will be used within our communities to really make a difference. By choosing to support our Club through the Foundation Tom has given us a much needed vote of confidence.
What does this mean for our club?
We must view Tom's gift as a challenge. We will be able to step up our goals for community service. We will need to come together in January 2021 as we have in the past to create an expanded vision of the future service opportunities. While the funds are considered unrestricted, Tom has a special interest in addressing poverty, homelessness, and hunger in the Copper Corridor. Accordingly, I am asking the Community Services Committee to take the lead in developing expanded action plans.
Let's create a plan that will truly make a difference to those in need throughout our community.
