Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention: Care for Kids and Nurturing Healthy Sexual Development Program, selected as the Beneficiary of the 2013 Clarence DeMar Marathon.

The Clarence DeMar Marathon is the signature fundraiser for the Keene Elm City Rotary Club.   Annually, KECR awards up to $10,000 to a local, not-for-profit, agency servicing the youth in our community, based on the proceeds from the fundraising efforts of the DeMar.  The Beneficiary of the 2013 Clarence DeMar Marathon will be the Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention:  Care for Kids and Nurturing Healthy Sexual Development program.

This program is designed to work with children, 3-8 years old, their caregivers, teachers, and parents by providing education on how to detect and prevent child sexual abuse, and should sexual abuse happen, how to respond early and appropriately utilizing the support available at MCVP to facilitate healing, recovery and resiliency of the child.

The 36th annual Clarence Demar Marathon will be run on Sunday, September 29th, 2013 starting in Gilsum and finishing on Appian Way, Keene State College.  For more information about the marathon, please visit the web site, www.clarencedemar.com.  For more information about MCVP, visit them at www.mcvprevention.org.
