RotoLounge is a Sweet Way to Express Interests
StoryThumbnail
RotoLounge is a new feature that President Lockard has offered to the club as a sweet way to share your interests in the community while helping the club rasie the funds for those community projects we love so well!  BWR members have an opportunity each week to sponsor a sweet treat (or, in some cases, a sweet sip!) in exchange for that elusive "air time" to share about their business passions, community services interests, or simply an exciting family happening that they just can't resist sharing with the rest of the group!

For a mere $100 + the cost of a dessert (or bring a homebaked goodie, if you like), Rotarians are given the opportunity to set up a modest table display on any topic of your choice!  For example, you can promote your business like John McMurtrey did when he shared his migic Drink Machine from Outdoor Galore (rumor has it that John might craft a bit of a discount if you ask nicely!) or an event that you might like to promote like Greg Lockard did when he set up the Lisbon table and discussed the Rotary International Convention.  Think outside of the box!  You could set up a display of your child's wedding photos or promote or your grandchild launching to college!  You name it!

Your Rotolounge sponsorship also includes the opportunity to share your passion ina 2-minute "elevator speech" during our meeting.  Finally, your logo will be promoted on our Clubrunner site during the week following your sponsorship!
What a bargain!

Tech Day was a Trip!

Remember how excited you were when you were in elementary school and the teacher announced a fieldtrip?  A day away from school with no work and no rules!  In true elementary fashion, we kicked off our first fieldtrip of the 2013 year with a Tech Day training at Fresno Pacific University.  Designed to highlight the many changes to the updated Clubrunner site, the event focused on the club's website and some additional tips for using the internet and smartphone apps.

Approximately 30 Rotarians joined in the hands-on fun at Tech Day where they learned about some of the bells and whistles that have been added to the Clubunner site.  Attendees confirmed their log-in usernames, reviewed how to check and change their own profiles in the system including how to upload their own photos, found they have access to contact information for all club members, and discovered how easy it is to register for our events right from the website.  Additionally, participants found that they have easy access to committee information including how to get involved (and put their two-cents in) with committees such as the Membership and Program's committees.

Some of the other information that was shared included the easy access to club photos from all events!  Participants learned how to find and even download copies of pictures that are taken at our events such as Cioppino and Charter night.  Finally, we reviewed the location of critical information such as the weekly "duty" assignment for greeters, flags, table, and invocation.

In addition to the Clubrunner information, we introduced a few "bonus" tips including the introduction of several convient smartphone apps.

If you missed out on the Tech Day fieldtrip but would like to know more about the material we covered, please feel free to contact me at angela.paquette@fresno.edu and I will be happy to help!
