Our featured presenter on JULY 15th. Was Khayanga Jenipher Wasike 
CEO/President of WHISCA (Willing Hearts International Society-Canada) and a member of the Rotary Club of Vancouver Quadra.

Their Vision is to Relieve Poverty, Advance Education and support independent living.

She told us about the Lugari Community Resource Centre Project in Kipkarran River,Kenya.
The centre is located in the western side of Kenya in Lugari District which has a population of 
over 250,000 people. In 2010 they opened the centre.

We were amazed at the number and 
diversity of the programs conducted at the centre which serves all of the western Province of
Kenya.

These include:

Farmer's Training and sustainable agriculture workshops.
Youth Leadership training,
Poultry project and Goat rearing,

Shipping of containers to support health & literacy.

Micro-financing and women's sewing project

Water project-Domestic Purification and filtration.

Youth Scholarships.

In one Program the Youth Leadership Project they bring together 150 Girls from across the region to learn leadership
skills that they can take back to their villages to develop skills of women in their communities
