Why we Help

When the Rotary Friendship tour occurred 18 mos ago in South Africa, we visited several Day Cares (Creche), Hospital/Homes for the Aged and Orphanages. One of the Homes for children who had been abused or abandoned we visited was the "House on the Rocks". At that time 34 children were being looked after by very caring people. They have since moved to a Farm in the country, the children help with the vegetable garden, feed the chickens and collect the eggs. To date they have 61 children, this relates to approx 20 loads of washing a day!! Our two containers to East London, have helped Schools, Creches, Hospitals, Seniors homes and Technical training courses for young adults. The Siwissa School in Grahmstown received a second delivery of desks and chairs as well as school, text and Library books. We plan to visit those areas who we have managed to help in the past and also to look at future projects, which will be our third year commitment. The children are our future.
