The Club will make a donation to Disaster Aid Canada, the Shelterbox people run by the Rotarians on Vancouver Island.  Our donation will be matched by the Canadian Government.

Peter:  The hockey pool is over.  Awards:  Mike Poznanski, lowest, and Linda took top place.  Well done everybody!

Dan:  To work SFPP and Ribfest you need a Rotary Volunteer T-shirt.  They are $14., available at Rotary mtg.  Be sure to get yours!

We will meet at Red Truck Brewery May 27th - car pooling, call Al S.

Installation:  A photographer is needed.  Call Gary

Alan reported on the District Conference, especially regarding our Polio eradication efforts.  In 1988 there were 1500 cases.  This year,  just 21.  The goal is to declare the world polio-free in 2018!   63 volunteers have been killed while doing this Good Thing.

Next year they will be doing the stronger polio shot rather than oral dose

Of course, money is still needed.  The Gates Foundation is matching Rotary donations 2:1

In lieu of a Guest Speaker, we heard reports on RibFest:  Arrangements are going well.

Have you marked your calendar?  July 10, 11, and 12!

The 50/50 will have $30,00 in prizes, and yes, they will be available to sell early, before the event.

Volunteers:  We need about 200 volunteers.  They must pass a criminal records check.

Beer Gardens:  Lucy has bartenders ready;   They must register.

Safety plan/site map is under way

Port Moody Police will provide 5 police for the beer garden

The Ribers arrangements are coming along well.

The Children’s Fun Zone, has several things arranged, including a climbing wall!

Music:  All the bands are confirmed.  There are 20 bands coming, for music all weekend.

Amazing media coverage is arranged. Social media, Rotary newsletters, outdoor shelters, radio, Hard Rock casino, etc.

There will be a rehearsal for the RibRunners so they know what to do

Al reminded us that this is primarily a Community Service project, free to the people who come

More sub-committees are to come as we get closer.  Stay tuned!.
