Valentin joins his first Rotary meeting

Today we were formally introduced to Valentin our inbound exchange student from Bavaria, Germany. Bavaria is near the Alps in the South East corner of Germany and borders on Austria. Valentin is a delightful young man. The oldest of three brothers, Valentin is looking forward to his time here over the next 12 months. His family, especially his mother is very excited for Valentin, however shed many tears with his departure. His early impressions of Canada are extremely favourable, with friendliness being the highest on the list. This is the biggest difference that he has noted so far, versus the more conservative nature of his German countrymen. Our impressions of Valentin are that of a well mannered and articulate individual who has an excellent command of the english language. We are fortunate to have him. George Broderick will act as his home stay family in the first leg of his stay. Many thanks George and please welcome Valentin.
