It was a Friday night, it stopped raining and we had a great crowd come down
to Queens Street Plaza to take in the lights and music. We just beat last years
total for SHARE!
We collected $812.98. (+ one Hong Kong $2. coin). Last year, would you believe,
brought in $812.26...We beat that by just .72cents!!!!
T hanks have to go to Jillian McCavour, Events Assistance for the City of Port
Moody, who supplied the tent, power and light. St.James Well for supplying the
Hot Chocholate and our own Terry, from Thrifty Foods for supplying the Electric
Urns and Starbucks for supplying all the Hot Water
Many thanks to the following Rotarians for working so hard to make last night a
great success.
Trudy Gallant and our newest member Maryn Ashdown for gratuitously and
diligently pouring and service endless cups of Hot Chocolate. Vida Peterson for
organizing the cups and taking donations. Dan Gallant and our own President
Ron Baker for fetching and pouring the Hot Water. Mike Warnock for
helping me load/un-load, putting up our signs and general setup,
especial big thanks to him for being my First-Aid Attendant
too!? Thanks go to Steve Witiuk for serving and being Steve! Orland
and Randy for showing their support too.
It is a great feeling knowing that through our efforts last night and by
working together, we have probably made a few Port Moody families a
little happier this Christmas.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS
