One of our 'Roving Rotarians' has written the following:  So good to hear from Dan !!!

As for the summer of 2014 in P.E.I. it's been wonderful so far. Beautiful weather (except for plenty of wind) lots of great food including lobster and oodles of entertainment as their celebrating 150 years since the confederation conference in Charlottetown which was the beginning of Canada as we know it.

I continue to do most of my Rotary makeups at the Summerside Club and they consider me such a summer regular they've even got me a name badge. Great group of about 60+/-Rotarians with a very high profile in their community. Their attendance regularly exceeds 85%.

Last Friday they had their annual golf tournament (I volunteered but they had plenty). They were sold out with 144 golfers, had 9 major sponsors plus 67 hole sponsors. Had a 50/50 draw, silent auction which raised $5200.00. Total revenue was $65,000.00 they expect to net $50,000.00 An amazing number for a small middle class community. It was their 17th year and proceeds go to the local hospital in Summerside.

On a final note for now I've been asked to speak about Rotary World Help at their meeting on August 26th which I'll be happy to do. They have done a few containers in the past but would like to ramp it up province wide and create a formal structure.

That's it for now.

Take care.

Dan
