Such great news !!!! At the council meeting on Tuesday October 28th, 2014, Mayor Mike Clay and council passed 'permission' for the Rotary Club of Port Moody to hold the Rotary RibFest in July.
Ian M. and Al did an excellent job presenting the idea and we had 16 Rotarians out to support. NOW the work has begun !!! On November 13th, there will be the 1st meeting of the RibFest to break out the committees and jobs that need to be done. Please come to the meeting at 235 Guilford at 7:00pm to see where you can help.
We had two guests this week, Terry Miller [who has been proposed as a new member] and Danne Dunlop who came to 'check us out'. We hope to see more on Danne.
George thanked everyone who came out to help with the food drive. Very successful once again.
We have lots going on as usual this time of year. Please mark your calendars for the days that you can help out.
Saturday November 8th - 9:30 am - Meet at Gallaghers - Please sign up....we need at least 8 people to help clean up Heritage Mtn. Blvd. Rain or shine....
Friday November 14 -6:00 pm - Eagle Ridge Manor - to help 'sort' the Christmas decorations
Saturday November 15 - 10:00 am - Eagle Ridge Manor decorating - loads of fun, bring the whole family, the more the merrier and the faster the work gets done.
December 7 - Eagle Ridge Manor Christmas party for the residents. Santa will be there...
December 18 - Inner Visions Chili lunch - 10:00 am - This event will 'make' your Christmas !!!
December 18 - Share Christmas Train - 5:00 pm - Behind City Hall - Peter needs two shifts of people
PP Gayle did an excellent presentation on RI Foundation and made it much 'clearer' of why we donate to RI Foundation. Thank you Gayle.
Overall a great meeting....BUT we still have not found the 'box' with the Rotary Shirts and pins etc. Please have a look around your home, trunks etc. We must find.
Look forward to seeing everyone next week.
