Rotary meeting June 28th, 2017
Another great day for the Rotary Club of Port Moody !!! Yes we inducted Yvonne Berrisford today into our Club. Yvonne has already proven she will be a great Rotarian ! This was Patty's last meeting as our President and she wrote up a brand new Induction which was perfect for Yvonne and the new members we will have in the future. Coreen proposed Yvonne and has offered to mentor her as well. It was great to see Yvonne's husband Andy visit as well.
Stan Carter was visiting from the Semiahmoo Club. Clive Evans from the Sunrise Club was there and gave praise to Patty for her year and to Mike for his upcoming year and his speech.
Mayor Mike Clay always welcome and always joking. So nice to have him visit us.
Police Chief Dave Fleugel was our Guest Speaker and brought good news from our Port Moody Police Dept. We are in good hands with Chief Dave and his staff.
Chief Dave told us that the 'motto' within the Police Staff is 'NO CALL TOO SMALL' and that one gentleman when told that he worked for the Port Moody Police said 'Port Moody is a Bundle of Goodness'. We are blessed to live in such a great Community and he said the best way to keep our City safe is 'look out for one another'. If you see a gum wrapper, pick it up....it's YOUR City... Know & own our own turf !!! Get to know your neighbors. Be alert !!! Join Block Watch.... Our Rotary Club is great at pulling the Community together for many of our events, so we are doing our job. !!!
