The buzz was still in the air about our SHRED-A-THON.  Good stories and record amount of money.!!

Great to see Yvonne at our meeting again.  She came early to 'set-up'.

We are coming down to the 'wire' for our Installation night and it looks like it is going to be a fantastic night.  If you haven't booked yet, please do as we need our numbers soon.

Chief Ron Coulson and Safety Prevention Officer Rob Van were our guest speakers today.  Our Chief was a teacher at Moody Jr. 34 yrs. ago, but being a firefighter was always his dream.  He lives with his wife and 2 children in Ranch Park and after listening to him, we could all tell that the Chief loves his job and the team he works with.

Rob Van heads up the Fire Prevention, Safety, Health & Wellness dept.  He also is very passionate about his job.  We have a Port Moody Home Safety Program in Port Moody and they are trying to reach all residents.  For more information go to:  pmfd.info@portmoody.ca .  They will come and give you tips on safety and check your fire alarms.  Smoke Alarms save lives, so please 'check yours'.

They also reminded us that the firefighters volunteer their time for the Annual Pancake Breakfast on July 1 & 2.  The money raised goes to Eagle Ridge Hospital and CrossRoads Hospice.  We are so lucky to have these Firefighters take care of us all.

Jeannie tried hard, but the Ace of spades is still in the POT.
