Rotary: Meeting evening July 10
Thank you to President Jon & Cleone for putting together a great informative meeting.
.......BUT that is why we are IN ROTARY !!!!!
We all gathered at Jon's complex for our Rotary meeting. A great turnout including, Jon, Julia, Patty & Don, Vida, Cleone, Beata, Nick, Ann, Peter, Isy, Steve W, Steve G, Trudy, Brian, Ron, Jim, Jason, Darrell & myself.
We made some great decisions some of which are the following:
Keep all three of our Fundraisers and get the CLUB to help with all of them for sponsorship etc:
Rotary Fall Classic Golf Tournament, Search for the Perfect Pint and Shred-a-Thon
Keep all activities for the Eagle Ridge Manor- Decorating, Christmas Party, Pie Day and Rotary Night/reading
Keep the Kids Camp but apply for Grants so we can continue to send at least 30 kids from our club - District Grants are due August 1st.
Move Innervisions Chili lunch to Thanksgiving
Move our Club Christmas party to January because everyone is so busy at Christmas
Share Christmas train - Peter will continue with Hot Chocolate
Share Generous Heart Food Drive twice a year, but only organize for volunteers from our Club to work at Thrifty's and IGA
Share Hamper packing - go on day of with family and friends - no organizing
Hike for Hospice - work the day of Hike at registration desk,
Possibility of sponsorship for Summer Sunday's Concerts - great opportunity to get Rotary name out in the public, with no work, and possibility of new members.
Terry Fox Run - if they want our help, we can individually help at registration desk
Rotary World Help Network - continue to tell Club when loading of containers are and help when can
Have more social activities - First one on July 26th at the Balzer's - RSVP
Rotary RIPS - get the past Kids Camp students, RYLA and maybe Rotaract
Keep helping Rotaract with there projects
Encourage members to come forward to be Host families for our Youth Exchange Program......if you are not informed about it, please ask Nick or Darrell.
Need to find host families for 2014 or we will not be able to participate
Find out who is 'hosting' the Tri-Cities Christmas party this year.....It may be US ;o)
Will leave Hannah House on the 'back burner' for now
Will leave Police Camp on the 'back burner' for now
Once again, such a great turnout, good dialogue and looks like we have our jobs cut out for us. BUT that is why we are IN ROTARY !!!!!
