Rotary Meeting August 13, 2014
Our Guests were Mayor Mike Clay and his father, Gordon Clay, Tom Williams, our Honorary Member, Melena Cerin and Tom Babbs
We sang “Happy Birthday” (both choruses) to Ian McPhail, Ian Callopy and Mike Poznanski.
Dan & Marian Gallant are celebrating their 46th anniversary, and Peter Cuthbert celebrates 14 years with our club
Julia’s father passed away, a card for her went around. We send our thoughts and prayers to Julia and her family
Ian and Al talked about the Ribfest they attended in Kamloops; how it was done and the great reception by the community (AND MONEY!). We may do one also. Tentative dates: July 10,11, 12 so SAVE THE DATE!
Our container to South Africa was successfully packed. Lots of our members turned up. Good job, everyone!
Aug. 28th will be a Fireside meeting at Linda’s home. Feel free to come and support our new members.
Rotary Club of Port Moody's 15th Anniversary Party will be on OCT. 4th.
Trudy talked about the $6,000. we donated to provide a Music and Memories programme for the Manor

Our Guest Speaker was Lucy Honey-Rae, doing her Classification speech. Lucy has led a very interesting life. Her childhood was in Quebec. She didn’t learn English until she was 15. She was married 3 times and widowed twice by the age of 34.
Lucy’s works as a community builder. She is called to createplaygrounds where people can heal. She is working her Masters in Community Development, specializing in Non-Profit Development.
Lucy comes to us from the Abbotsford area clubs. She was a Group Study Leader to Brazil, and ix a 4 times Paul Harris Fellow.
