We were small but mighty !!!!

Seems we have several people away and several on 'leave', but none the less, we had a great meeting.

Our guests this week were: Tony Whitham, a long time resident, past school teacher and Rugby coach and visiting Rotarian and lovely wife of Darrell, Krista Burnham.

We sang our Birthday song to Dan Dunlop today and our guest recognized right away that it was a Rugby song.

SFPP is going very well.  Big thanks goes to all who have been involved and especially to Peter for leading, Gayle for gathering up ticket money, Dan for chipping in and to Ian C. for all the Breweries we have on board.  I think by the end of this event we will have had most of the members of the club involved in one way or another.  Thanks also to all who have sold tickets.

Scott entered Wheel to Heal on Sunday and their group have raised $25 K and we wish him well on his ride.

Today our very own Darrell Burnham spoke to us.  Darrell is the CEO of Coast Mental Health and he talked today about the Courage to Come Back awards night.
These awards started in 1999 and to quote their website:

The Courage To Come Back Awards is a province-wide annual campaign that pays tribute to BC residents who have demonstrated extraordinary courage in their recovery from illness or adversity. The awards are presented to one individual in each of the following categories: Addiction, Medical, Mental Health, Physical Rehabilitation, Social Adversity and Youth.

Darrell showed a very moving video and then told some of the stories of the recipents....YES we all had tears in our eyes.  What a worthwhile event and thank you Darrell for your work at Coast.
