Friday was a good day for Rotary and Innervisions.  Under the direction of Ron Baker we delivered [in a rented truck] a large amount of 'stuff'.  Oh my gosh, we had 4 dressers, 2 vacuums, 48 pillows, 2 gigantic pots [for our Chilli lunch] cups, bowls, plates, light fixtures, griddles, toasters, knife sharpeners, chairs and blinds and paper towel dispensers yet to arrive.
We loaded up the truck and met at Miller Avenue.  Thank you to Al for getting the truck, to Vida for 'fronting the cash', Kathy for her expertise in shopping, to Jason and Al for 'storing' items until we could deliver....and of course to Ron for leading the way.....  I hope I didn't forget anyone.....always the danger of doing that when mentioning names.  ANYWAY thanks to the Club for the support of this project, to Gayle who brow beated Ron to get the 'grant' done.  Without the whole support of the club, none of this could be done.  The men at Innervsions were 'over the top' when they saw the items and something as simple as a new pillow, brought the biggest smiles.  Two of the men that were at Miller recognized us as the ones who 'cooked lunch for them'.  They both have come back to Innervsions to volunteer and give back.  Both 9 months 'clean and sober' .   I can hardly wait until Christmas to cook the Chili lunch again for Innervsions again.  Be proud Rotary Club of Port Moody....
