In just one day, District 5050 awarded grants totalling $47,800 to 19 Rotary clubs.

The grants will helps clubs with a variety of programs (listed below).

The funds are made possible through the support of Rotarians for the Annual Programs Fund of the Rotary Foundation.

100% of every donation made to the Rotary Foundation goes where it is needed.

The funds are invested for a three year period which allows for greater planning and generates interest to pay for the administration expenses.

The funds awarded this year were raised in 2009-2010 under the leadership of then District Governor Larry Jubie.

These awards, called District Simplified Grants, represent only 10% of the total funds raised that year.

The grants of up to $3,000 are for local community projects as well as international ones.

The grants are awarded under Rotary International’s guidelines of health, hunger, literacy and helping those in need.

Some of these programs would not happen in the communities if we did not have this money available.

A big thank you to all of those Rotarians that give every year to the Rotary Foundation so that these Clubs can do such good work.
