Rotary: Community Day

Hi everyone..what a great day we had today!  We  gave out 20 Rotarian magazines and another 150 handouts outlining Club activites. We had visits from  more than 25 kids who  filled in a Rotary word scramble and we talked to many, many morepeople...offering many handouts including a "take away" advertising the Pint and the Shred A Thon.

Some people already knew about Rotary...a young volunteer a the booth next to us had been to camp for 3 years  and a Seaview parent also thanked Rotary for sending his child to camp and opening a whole new world to him..he is now hoping to one day work for Camp Jubilee. 

We talked to two former Rotarians who now live in Port Moody..both expressed an interest in reconnecting to Rotary.  We met a really nice young man whose father was a former RC president and he had been a Rotoractor..also now considering membership.

Cleone did an interiew with Shaw Cable TV!  We sold Perfect Pint tickets and had an offer of a donation for the Golf Tournament.  It was all great!

I really want to thank Joye, whose creativity shone through..her display board was beautiful!  She and Cleone were both there from the start..Joye had to leave a bit early to head off to RYLA..but Cleone helped with the "take down".  Along the way, we had great support from Vida, Al and Dan..who mingled and chatted with people .. really promoting the Club.  Thanks to Joye, Cleone, Vida, Al and Dan too!  A great team effort and a great day!

Thanks also to Alan and his wife Nadine for making sure some promotional materials that we had ordered from RI made it to me on time!
