Rotary Club of Port Moody meeting May 21st, 2014

Great meeting today, sun was shining and the Pub was bustling…..President Jon was in fine form ‘again’ and we had lots of visitors.  We even had a visitor that was interested in Rotary because of the Search for the Perfect Pint…..;o)  that’s very good news.

It was Gary & Patty’s birthday’s and the song was sung ‘loud and clear’ ;o)…It is Dan's birthday and next week we will sing to him.....BUT this week he gave his Birthday money towards Paul Harris.....The ‘whole gang’ gave kudos’ to the Search for the Perfect Pint committee for all the hard work that was done and for the BIG success that it was.

 

Please mark June 7th on your calendars to help at the Shred-a-Thon [PLEASE, tell all your friends and neighbours about this event]  or packing a container for South Africa !!! AND from 2-3:30 there will be a Strawberry Tea at Eagle Ridge Manor to celebrate the Anniversary of the Manor.  We are all invited.

 

Guests this week were Rhian & Elspeth [our guest speakers] about Literacy, and they did such a great job.  I especially loved the project they called 'Little Free Library' and it would be so wonderful if one of our members took this on for Port Moody.  Other guests were Sonia, Lucie & Michael Nelson.

 

Our members are certainly travelers - we heard of trips to Hawaii, Disneyland, Ecuador, 'Steve' is in Europe, 'Ann' is in England, and Gayle is 'going, going.....next week.  

 

Peter has asked for volunteers for one of our 'Literacy' projects which is Reading to the Seniors at Eagle Ridge Manor.....He needs help on June 16, July 7 and July 21st.  Please contact him if you can help.
