....2011 was an amazing year for me.....
December was great. Lots of stuff was happening almost every day. With Rotary I helped with the food packing for Share and I was at the Christmas train helping out santa.
I went to Coquitlam mall every week to buy Christmas presents and to help my friends and host family pick out presents. I did quite a lot of baking; some with Vida from the club and some with my host mom, Tereza. Christmas eve came faster that I've ever experienced, and the evening was full of good food, happy people and nice Christmas atmosphere.
I didn't expect Christmas to be very different, and it wasn't. The only differences were, that my family from Denmark wasn't there. Which was a bit weird for me. The food was a bit different - no duck or rice pudding, but turkey and cake. Which was just as good for sure. I spent new years eve with my good friends from school. It was my friends birthday, so we celebrated him and had a fun evening. I was surprised how there wasn't any fireworks at all - just because I'm used to seeing the sky lit up by fireworks every new years. But here I picked up a new tradition: Running out and banging pots and pans together making a lot of noise!

2011 was an amazing year for me. Probably the best yet. I'm so grateful for everything - everyone who made it possible to come to Canada. It has definitely been the best decision of my life so far! I'm starting 2012 with a positive mind and lots of adventures to look forward to.
