RENOVATION UNDER WAY........The BEST Little Free Library !!!!

Walter has been working on the library all week and will need a few more days.  The improved building will now have mold-resistant paint on the inside, on the front door and on the bottom where there was mold between the building and the supports to the post.  He is now putting more coats of varithane on the siding, although even after sanding there is still some water staining.  The cedar shakes on the roof are meant to weather,  so that part does not get painted at all.  As well, the building corners will be getting a caulked trim to keep the moisture out of the inside, which was a problem last year.  New windows will be in the door too.  Hopefully, it will not need maintainance again for a long time.

As with any project, Walter sees ways it could have been made more weatherproof, but hopefully much of that is now dealt with.  Some things like the rain hitting the front cannot be stopped.

So, with luck, he’ll have it back up and filled again in a few days.  It was fairly full and I have some books to top it up, so it won’t need a service call right away.

Thank you to Walter & Terry for all the work you have done to make The Rotary Club of Port Moody very proud of our Little Free Library.
