Gary once again in beautiful voice, opened our meeting and sang O' Canada.

Guest this week was Margaret Franz, who will be our Speaker next week.  She will be speaking on:

BC Penitentiary riot in 1975 and the death of Mary Steinhauser [ Margaret's sister]

Kudos to Gayle & Bob for their Environmental Award from the City of Port Moody and to Saam who is the Vice President of Interact who is helping ERM with I Pads for the seniors. He got a grant on his own, and that is what he decided to do.

A container will be packed and sent to Belize this Saturday......Thank you to Dan and Glen & Al for organizing.  Belize is very grateful and we have a good sense that the Rotary Club of Port Moody is helping to make Belize a better and safer place to live & visit.  Thank you to Cisco Woods for all he does for his country.

What Makes a Successful Global Grant Application?

Consult with local experts early in the planning process to build a strong program plan and global grant application. The district resource network (see below) can help.
To be approved, your application must clearly describe how your project, scholarship, or vocational training team:

  • Is sustainable — include plans for long-term success after the global grant funds have been spent
  • Includes measurable goals
  • Aligns with one or more of Rotary's areas of focus
  • Responds to real community needs
  • Actively involves Rotarians and community members
  • Meets the eligibility requirements in the grant application terms and conditions

The Rotary Foundation’s grant model empowers Rotarians to continue advancing world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the implement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
