I had a busy week with Rotary this week, had to golf at 3 Rotary related events.. Tough job but someone
has to do it.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting this week.
Last Wednesday Alan, Darrell, Oleg and I went golfing at Westwood Plateau.
Dan Gallant had won a round of golf for 4 at the Rotary Search for the Perfect Pint this year.
He donated the round to the club, the 4 of us chipped in donations to the Rotary Club of Port Moody
Foundation. Money well spent, had a great time.
On Friday it was the district annual GolFun event. Our club sponsored this event as part of annual RI
contributions. We sponsored $1,000 for Polio Plus and $1,000 for Annual Program funds. This event raised about
$70,000 for Rotary International. I paid the golf registration fee and joined the event.
The weather was great and it was nice to meet new people from the other clubs.
On Monday of this week was the annual Port Moody library Literacy golf event.
Our club was a hole sponsor and donated $750 to the event. As part of that contribution
we received 2 guests passes to the event. These passes were auctioned off in our meeting
a few weeks ago. Don Klassen and I were the winning bidders and donated a total of $240 to
Paul Harris. Don unfortunately had a bad back and could not golf, Alan filled in for him.
We wore our Rotary colors and promoted Rotary.
Isabella and Ian were also at the event representing their businesses.
