We are hoping to receive a District Citation for the superb job our committees did achieving projected goals, including a healthy increase in club membership.
Well, we have 11 Rotarian members, spouses and partners attending the District Conference in Chilliwack this weekend. As always, there will be some excellent "take aways" which will help us become better Rotarians. We are hoping to receive a District Citation for the superb job our committees did achieving projected goals, including a healthy increase in club membership. In next week's president's message, I will highlight a few of the key messages from the conference. BERIT'S FASHION SHOW FOR KID'S CAMP: Don't forget to bring your cheques to purchase tickets Wednesday morning for Berit's fashion show and dinner to assist with Kid's Camp. You will receive a 3 course meal, help a great cause, see some fashion statements, and have some wonderful fellowship. We want to fill the "S" Restaurant and make this a huge success. LEE HARMON - GUEST SPEAKER WEDNESDAY: Lee Harmon is attending our meeting Wednesday as a guest speaker. Lee recently got back from helping vaccinate children in one of the 4 countries which still needs to conquer "Polio." Lee will give us a full overview of how important our donation are to help with the elimination of Polio. Please try to attend and see this presentation. JULY "SHARE" FOOD BANK DRIVE" Heather Scott of "Share" advises that the cupboards are getting rather empty at "Share" this time of year. She is asking our club to consider having another Thrifty's Food drive on a Saturday in July to help stock the shelves for hungry residents of Port Moody.I am asking a member to chair this event, coordinate with Thrifty's, and get a volunteer sign up going. Peter and Jon were in charge of the last event, which was a huge success. I am sure these 2 gentleman would mentor our team going forward. Let me know if you are interested to take this on!
