I was introduced to the concept of completing a makeup for a missed Rotary meeting online this week and found the experience to be a very worthwhile process. Gary Wiggins has completed makeup's through the Rotary website "EClub One" and guided me through the signon stages. You need to stay online for a minimum of 30 minutes, and choose from a variety of Rotary educational and inspirational articles. At the conclusion of the session you can printout a makeup form and have one emailed to your club secretary. An article which especially was inspiring for me was a recently published address to the Rotary Club Assembly in Vail Colorado entitled "The Passionate Rotarian" The address shares the thoughts of the District Governor for his passion in Rotary. some of the key themes included: -A passionate Rotarian will teach new members how to find value in attending weekly meetings, lending a hand in local projects -A passionate Rotarian will teach those who cannot read and write, serve those who are hungry and suffer from poor health -A passionate Rotarian will want to invite those who are Rotarians "in their heart" but have not been asked to join Rotary yet It is my dream that every Rotarian in our club will find his or her passion in Rotary and let nothing stop them from improving the lives of other.
