We are indeed the champions! We accepted all of the challenges and we won!
Yes ladies & gentlemen! We are indeed the champions! We accepted all of the challenges and we won! We have to be proud, even as we retain our dignified humility. The fourth arm of the cauldron didn't rise. We took the flak and rose above it. We didn't snivel and make excuses. We fixed the thing and then made a joke of setting it right at the closing ceremonies. It rained in Cypress Bowl and we were criticized again………..for the weather! Did we snivel and make excuses? No we went out and found a way to make the venues work and the events were achieved. Joannie Rocchet lost her Mom. She mourned and we mourned with her. But she didn't quit! She persevered and won an Olympic medal….between tears and prayers. I guarantee that if there is a heaven, there is a proud Momma beaming down on one terrific Canadian! When the Russians missed their medal targets, there was lots of foot stamping and moaning. Sounds like lots of new Gulag residents soon. When our media started to ridicule "OWN THE PODIUM", our athletes just knuckled down and got it done. I am a Canadian and I am proud! Thanks for listening Ron
