I was heading for a coffee meeting with Dan Gallant this past week when a lady approached me and asked if the logo on my jacket was a "Rotary Club" crest. When I mentioned that the insignia was indeed the crest of Rotary International, she related how impressed she was by the work Port Moody Rotary Club does to help people in need in our local community. It turns out that one of her friends is a volunteer at "Share", and they were impressed by the recent results of the food drive, and the support our Rotary members provided to make this community need be fulfilled. Later in the day, I reflected of how fortunate I am. to be a member of the Port Moody Rotary Club. It seems each week, one of our club members takes charge of a community need, and "makes it happen." Thanks to Patty Klassen, many needy people will receive a warm blanket to help them through the cold nights. Patty has truly led the charge in "Service Above Self." through her leadership. Dan Gallant keeps finding ways to collect quality computers, hospital beds, desks and many other needy items to be delivered to needy groups via the "World Wide Help Network," Dan, Ann Hulbert, and others within our club find time in their busy days to raise the flag of Rotary, locally and internationally. There are countless other outstanding examples of how our club members serve our community daily. Our "Literacy Dance" is scheduled for this coming Saturday. We are hoping for a sellout to raise at least $3000.00 for funding of our club "Literacy" programs. Please buy a ticket and support this excellent event. Keith
