traditional Christmas Breakfast with all four local clubs
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE It has become a custom for the Presidents of the Tri-cities Rotary Clubs to meet once a month and last Thursday night was our first meeting. Patty Thorleifsons from the Coquitlam Club, Paul Gill from Port Coquitlam Centennial, Denny Boyd our District Governor and myself attended. Tom Albanese from Coquitlam Sunrise was on holiday. We had an interesting discussion bringing up many topics. The main discussion came from Patty's proposal to change our traditional Christmas Breakfast with all four local clubs. Vancouver Golf Club House, which is the Coquitlam Clubs meeting place, and has been the past venue. In previous years we have all entered a team in the Christmas Carol singing contest. This is highlight event and a lot of fun, and not in the least bit competitive!??? Patty's proposal was based on the fact that quite few of their members and Centennial members have difficulty making breakfast meetings. The four Tri-cities club meeting times are:- 2 Breakfast Clubs, 1 lunch time club and 1 afternoon club. We all came to an agreement that we should all share being host for this popular Rotary event. The schedule would look like this; 2007 Breakfast club 2008 Lunch time club 2009 Breakfast club 2010 Afternoon club This way we all share the hosting, setting up the Carole Singing Contest and most important the rules! It is great fellowship, very festive, puts you in the mood for Christmas and as mentioned before, no one really cares who wins the contest!!??
