I am proud to be a Rotarian!
Keeping Rotary's promise to eradicate polio and working to reduce child mortality is the focus for International Rotary President D.K. Lee this Rotary year. 'We will give children hope and a chance for a future." "We will bring clean water to communities and create sanitation projects that keep children healthy." "We will educate children to improve their chances to learn and prosper." Our Club's goals and activities for 2008-2009 will mirror those of D.K. Lee. Throughout the year, our club members will be active both locally and internationally, working on ways to meet these objectives. Our 4 Way Test is symbolic of the way our club takes on challenges head on. "Is it beneficial to all concerned" certainly represents our values. I am proud to be a Rotarian! Our primary July club activity has now taken place, and from all accounts the Kid's Camp was a roaring success. Isabella will be able to tell us all about the week's activities, and we will thank all the volunteers who made this event happen at this Wednesday's club meeting. Our first club board meeting took place on Monday, and we will keep everyone informed of any decisions, plans and activities at the following meeting date. With so many activities planned by each committee, we will no doubt have considerable ground to cover each board meeting. Thank you to each of you who have passed on positive comments pertaining to the certificate we are giving to each guest speaker signifying our commitment to vaccinate 10 children with polio vaccine in one of the 4 countries still struggling to eradicate polio.
