What does this New Year have in store for us and our Rotary Club?........
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE The year is 2008! What does this New Year have in store for us and our Rotary Club? Personally 2007 was an eventful year for the Cuthbert family! Martin our eldest son, as well as taking over my company, got married on the beach in Mexico to his stunning bride, Rachel, our second daughter-in-law! Our grand daughter Maya was 2 this Christmas! Jamie's wife, Yvette, is due, literally, any time/day to give birth to their second child and our second grand child!!! So the start of 2008 should prove to be busy. After completing many successful Christmas projects, in 2007, the New Year of 2008 has started in a buoyant mood for the Rotary Club of Port Moody, such us; ? Inducting our 51st member Frank Matchett, (52nd. coming up)! ? Gayle Carter taking on the vacant chairs of the "Club Foundation" and Vice Presidency role. ? Steve Gable facilitating the sizable donation of $53,000. in shares, to our Club Foundation account. ? Starting the process of widening and changing the "Club Foundation" guidelines for donations to various institutions and charities. ? Changing the schedule, to a more workable one, for our Greeters and Cashiers. Courtesy, Sharren Warnock ? Adopting Dale Shae's daughter Ferron's, project in Kenya, so it comes under the umbrella and stability of Rotary International. Courtesy, Ann Hulbert ? The completion of the Rotary Sign Project. Courtesy, Dan Gallant ? Proposal to partner with the Sunnyside Community Groups annual New Year's Day, Penguin Swim, in "selling" hot chocolate for donation to charity and promotion of our Rotary Club.
