President's Message #2

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Given the introduction of the new and old new Board Members at last week's meeting, it is obvious to all, that they are a highly motivated and talented group, willing to achieve their various goals for this new Rotary Year. But they need help! Please review the various e-mails that are being sent to you to see what Avenue of Service would best fit your talents, energy and of course time commitments. There is no better way of being a Rotarian than working together to achieve these goals, seeing the look of joy and gratitude on the faces, of say, the seniors and youth that we have served in the community is priceless, not to mention the personal feeling of confidence and self-worth, that you receive in doing it! Volunteerism is the lifeblood of Rotary and particularly of our fine Club, so please step-up and put your name forward, so you too can get involved with a truly great Club! Jessikha Hoeg has attended our meetings now for the past three weeks as a prospective new member. So with the approval of the Membership Committee and the Club, will be inducted a week from this coming Wednesday's meeting. Jessikha will be my first new induction and she follows in the footsteps of our other new members, Terry Peachey, Dale Shea and Sharon and Mike Warnock. On August 10th & 11th there is a "Rotary Presidential Membership Conference" being held at the Delta Hotel. RI President Wilf Wilkinson heads up the many outstanding speakers that will be presented. How about getting a group from our Club to attend this unique meeting. Please contact myself or Linda Balzer to get your name down for this event. If there are enough members interested in going, car-pooling would be a good idea and it would make it more fun to attend. So, in closing please put your names forward for a Service Committee of your choice so that you too will be involved in continuing to make our Club even more successful this year!
