PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE The Manor Christmas lights and Decorations on Saturday December 1st. The first real snowstorm of the year greeted us all as we awoke this morning, and our thoughts turned to getting out of that warm, comfy bed or working at the Manor in a snowstorm, what would it be??? I must admit, I was concerned as to how many volunteers would come, but I should not have worried, our Club is amazing! We had a great turnout to day, from Jon Dominy's Community Service Members, 10 guys showed up for the outside light installation! Thanks to Nick Stebbing's planning, (he also headed up this years outside light installation). Ron Baker for just rolling up his sleeves and getting on with it! Thanks go to Brian Dunne and his son Liam, Jon Dominy, Jim Pearcy, Jim McGrandles, Orland Lee, and Mike Warnock. Thanks to Dan Gallant who lent a hand but had to go back to Riverview to organize the loading of yet another container for RI. Inside Decorating was handled by Chris Aconley and little Cloey, (thanks for bringing us doughnuts Chris)! Gayle Carter and Linda Balzer, Cindy Cuthbert and of course Trudy Gallant, Darlene Hyde and her daughter, Sharon Warnock, Dave Pedersson and his daughter and our newest member Lili Nasseri. What commitment Lili has shown, we inducted her into our Club at our last meeting and twenty minuets later she has stepped up to help last week's guest speaker, Anne Sashikata in the Junior Achievement Award program! That is quick work and has to be a record?! A BIG THANK YOU has to go to Brian Dunne and son Liam, not only did they both work outside, they were still putting up decorations inside the manor when most of us had to leave. All in all it was a very satisfying project completed by 23 members and family, the best turnout ever! Honorable mentions go out to Canadian Tire, Coquitlam Branch, run by Past President of the Coquitlam Rotary Club, Paul Durris, who donated all the LED lights. CMJ Sheet Metal's foreman Dave Thorpe for supplying, delivering and picking up the ladders?..This is an example of how Rotary Shares and in particular how our Club Members Share???? and we certainly did to-day!
