How quickly a year goes by! This has been a year of outstanding achievements within Port Moody Rotary Club, and each of you should be very proud of your efforts.
I have thoroughly enjoyed completing a President's Message each week, to assist Linda in her excellent bulletin to club members, friends of Rotary, and District Executive. How quickly a year goes by! This has been a year of outstanding achievements within Port Moody Rotary Club, and each of you should be very proud of your efforts. I know Ron Baker, and his 2009-2010 Board Of Directors will continue to do wonderful work in our community and internationally. Goodbye to Francesco: Please come to Wednesday's meeting and say a final goodbye to our excellent exchange student, Francesco. This young man has matured over the past 10 months, and grown in his understanding of how us, as Canadians, live our culture, and daily activities. Francesco will have a few minutes to give us a few words, and we will give him a couple of gifts from the club. Installation Night: A BIG Thank You! goes out to the organizing committee for a job well done, organizing a very successful installation night at St. Street Grill. Congratulations to Darrell Burnham, an outstanding, and deserving recipient of a "Paul Harris Fellow Award." Darrell has been a true leader of Youth Programs for many years in our club, and has worked diligently to broaden the scope of the programs. "Share Food Drive" - July 11th A reminder that Peter is organizing the "Share Food Drive" at Thrifty's on Saturday July 11th. Please email Peter, if you can assist for a 2 hour shift that day. This is not a huge project, but 8 capable and ENERGETIC volunteers can make a world of difference to a number of needy families in Port Moody. Kid's Camp Volunteers Isabella is working to fill out her volunteer crew at Kid's Camp at Camp Jubilee commencing July 13th. If you can plan 2 or more days to help out at the camp, advise Isabella as soon as possible. One of the requirements of our Government Grant is to have a specific number of Rotary members attend the camp, and show a support to the kids. No Rotary Meeting July 1st Due to the Canada Day holiday, we are not hosting a Rotary meeting on Wednesday July 1st. Next meeting date is Wednesday July 8th. President Keith -- Signing out!
