They want to build a school in Kenya
PORT MOODY GIRLS HAVE AN AFRICAN DREAM Ferron Shea and Skyla Stapleman consider themselves lucky to have been born in an affluent country like Canada. As a result, they feel the need to help those who weren't. They have a dream. They want to build a school in Kenya , and nothing is going to stop them. They have returned pop bottles , sold Candygrams, Valentines and bracelets and have contributed gift money and babysitting wages. Now they can say that have cohosted a fashion show. Berit Sunde, a member of the Rotary Club of Port Moody and owner of Berit Boutique in Port Moody put on a fashion show and dinner on Sept. 25th at the Saint St. Grill with proceeds going to Ferron and Skyla's Kenyan School Project. The fashion show, dinner and 50/50 draw raised $1300 for the Kenyan school. Now the girls have over $4000 towards their goal of $17000. The girls wish to thank Berit Sunde, the Rotary Club of Port Moody, and everyone who has pressed money into their hands or offered up their pop and liquor bottles and cans.
