Prayers, positive thoughts, gratitude and love needed.

We are so grateful that Brian D came though his surgery with flying colors.  He is such a positive man and we are so lucky to have him in our Rotary Club.

Terry's surgery was a success and we hope he heals quickly.

Paul - Past President Meghan's husband has had his heart surgery, but he is not out of the woods yet.  The surgery went well but there have been a few complications and we will keep Paul in our thoughts and prayers.  This was a major surgery but we know that Paul is strong and has the love and support from his family and friends.

Gary you are always in our thoughts and prayers.  You are a trouper that is for sure !!!!

Thank you to Gayle for the notes and to Yvonne for the photos.

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Mossom Creek Hatchery Accessibility Upgrade Project, I want to express our sincere thanks for your attendance at yesterday’s event. Your support in this project made the upgrades to the hatchery and education centre possible!

It was a momentous occasion to mark the achievement of Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (Gold) and share our continued commitment to making accessibility improvements that will help all people feel welcome and able to participate in the important work taking place at Mossom Creek Hatchery. As I said Tuesday, we have more work to do to ensure that accessibility and inclusiveness to the surrounding area is addressed so that everyone visiting can enjoy the nature that abounds here and participate in salmon enhancement activities and educational opportunities.

I’d like to extend a special thank you to Tracy Green who was key to making this event a big success and the BIMES board members who helped, including our President, Kevin Ryan, Ruth Foster, Rod MacVicar, Jen Madoc-Jones and Neil Laffra, and our Mossom Creek volunteers Paul Steeves, Brian and June Larson. They all work tirelessly to make the hatchery and education centre a special place to visit in Port Moody.

We wanted to share photos from the event taken by photographer Paul Steeves: View the photos here
The TriCity News wrote a story about the event: Here's why Rick Hansen visited Port Moody's Mossom Creek fish hatchery
Global News covered the event during their 6 PM news hour last night - we hope you had a chance to view it! We will be sure to share the clip and any other news as we see it posted online.

With gratitude for your involvement.

Sincerely,
Pat Dennett

Help Rotary Create Hope in the World

Our Colossal 5050 Draw is a big part of RIBFEST.  This year our goal is a $225,000 jackpot with half going to the lucky winner.

The four Rotary Clubs of the tri-cities join in this lottery with the collective goal of making a big impact in Port Moody, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam.

5050 proceeds go to Rotary projects and fantastic local organizations doing great things.  Just imagine:
  • Feeding school kids through a Rotary Starfish program
  • Improving accessibility at an environmental centre
  • Sending kids to camp
  • Improving parks and trails
  • Supporting seniors
  • Helping people with addictions
We can do these things and more!

Join us in supporting community projects by purchasing a 5050 ticket today! Your contribution will make a difference in the lives of those in our community.

Rotary is a global network of community leaders dedicated to making a positive impact. To help Rotary make your community stronger, consider joining a local Rotary club, volunteering for their events and initiatives, or buying a 5050 ticket. Together, we can create a better world.
