Today's meeting was lively as usual.  Our guests this week were Alan Stuart a visiting Rotarian from the Edmonton Gateway Club, Bernie Hiller was visiting for the 3rd meeting and we all know what that means ;o), and our DG Denis & Maureen Boyd were visiting for the last time as our DG & first Lady !!!  Darrell gave very fitting 'happy dollars' today in recognizing  DG Denis and Maureen for the 'outstanding' work they did leading our District.  They certainly have led my example and we always enjoy having them join us. AND Denis even 'cleared the tables' today.

We did get some sad news today that our own Keith Vernon has resigned from our Club [for a short time we hope]  We wish him well and will miss him very much.  Keith has been a Rotarian for 28 years and has been with us for 12 years.
We also heard from DG Denis that our very own Godfather, Ed Nadort has 'retired' from Rotary but at their Installation night was given an Honorary Membership to the Sunrise Club.  We must get Ed to come and visit us very soon !!!!
Jon thanked the Installation night Committee and made the statement that he thought this year's Installation night was one of the BEST ever !!!

PP Isy has mentioned that anyone who would like to go up to Camp Jubilee on Sunday July 6th to see the kids we as Rotary have sent up there, to please let her know as soon as possible.  It is a great afternoon to mix with the kids, see the program and have lunch with them.  A good experience for everyone!!!

Julia has given us some dates to write in our calendars and please let her know if you can volunteer for these activities.

July 19-20 Generous Hearts Food Drive for Share
June 27 - Eagle Ridge Manor Pie Day.....Dan has done this in the past but will be away so we need someone 'new' to please 'step up'  The seniors love this day and to volunteer is only 2 hours of your time once a month.  Please let Julia know if you can help.

Ian MacPhail was our guest speaker and he along with a committee from the Club got together many times to try and come up with a new fundraiser to replace the Golf tournament that we are no longer involved with.  Ian did a fantastic job with a very concise power point presentation.  Our Club spends and gives alot of money away in the community and to do that we need MONEY!!  For example the Kids Camp is $17,000.00 to send our 32 kids to camp, [which is very worthwhile],  and you are well aware that we do more than just Kids Camp.....Ian did a great job in explaining how we came about deciding on a couple of different ideas and now it will be up to the members to make it happen.  Thank you Ian for your leadership on this project.

Again a great meeting.  We hope to see everyone next week .....along with some sun shine ;o)
