No Singing allowed of O'Canada, but President Coreen had a great video of our Anthem

Guest Speaker was Timothy Massawe of the Rotary Club of Hai-Kilmanjaro Tanzania.
I am a law Practitioner  in Tanzania.  I am the founder and Director of the SAIDIA  AGRICULTURE AND SOCIAL CARE ORGANISATION (SASCO), an organisation that has empowered  more than 200 vulnerable children through Education. I am one of the charter members and Past President of the Rotary Club of Hai-Kilimanjaro.
Currently, I serve as an Assistant Governor in my District 9214 which combines Uganda and Tanzania. Attached file is my personal story which I wrote as an article last year to inspire Rotarians to support the education program that I run through SASCO.

I got my first degree in laws at the Moshi Cooperative University and in 2016, and I graduated Law school of Tanzania in 2017. I am now a Lawyer and NGO Director.

There are a lot of children who are struggling to get education to reach their dreams, please be their inspiration, assist one of them when you can. Currently, we have students who have requested sponsorship. We reach out to friends and families who are interested to sponsor a child and watch him or her achieve their desired goal. There is no any bias or tribalism in identifying the potential candidates for sponsorship. The local government can be contacted where the child is for verification in case of any doubt.

There is always a very big power of changing the society through giving and helping others. Please change someone’s life before you die. Your work will continue to live in people’s hearts.

Timothy Massawe.

Gayle wrote about the Book Club night:

Our Rotary Book Club met at Gayle and Bob’s home. We had a dinner with lot’s of great food, potluck is the best, and we discussed our book . We have been meeting every month and have a new book 'Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand'.  Thanks to Susan for starting this project and Bill for getting the books from the library every month.
This has been a great project during Covid and has brought us a new way to spend time together.

Thank you to everyone who came to help Clean up Heritage Mtn. Blvd. on Saturday. Bill, Ian, Trish, Mike, Neil, Glen  & Alan.

Words from a Vocational Training Team Chair (VTT)

Dan Smith, Rotary District 7090 Vocational Training Team Chair, stated, “We are pleased with the successful Vocational Training Team experience in Brazil, Rotary District 4480, who hosted our team. Our team members were given opportunities to experience the expertise of the Brazilian world-renowned medical facilities and personnel in the areas of cancer, ophthalmology, and coronary procedures. Achieved goals included sharing best practices, research, helping others, and improving the quality of life. This team is currently sharing their many experiences of their Brazil experience with Rotary clubs in our area.”
