       Jesse Burtenshaw spoke for a few minutes about the charity he is involved with, "Do what U Luv" Creativity is essential for children , they provide after school programmes for children to encourage them to be creative in music, dance, art etc.
 
      Trudy reminded everyone about the Coquitlam Express Hockey game on the 15th, $6.00 of every ticket goes to the Starfish Backpack programme that provides food for children on the weekends when they cannot get school meals.

      March 5th is the District 50/50  annual membership event
 
     Isy presented a cheque for $1,000.00 from one of her clients to provide two kids with the opportunity to attend Camp Jubilee this summer. This is the 5th or 6th time her client has donated this amount to kids camp.  His mother was in the Manor for a few years and he always appreciated everything that Rotary did for the residents there.

    Dave Stone introduced Gene Vickers as guest speaker, our regular speaker was taken ill so Gene kindly stepped in at short notice.  He spoke about the comparison of Rotary's four way test and how that inspired him to produce a coin for Toastmasters that had a similar message of service recognizing, integrity, respect and service within that organization. He talked the District Govenor of Toastmasters into allowing him to have 2500 coins minted which were all sold very quickly and now over 100,000 coins have been made and distributed among the Toastmasters group.  One day he aspires to be the International President of Toastmasters.  He also talked about how Leo Nimsick talked him into joining Rotary during his days as an RCMP officer in the interior.  One day he hopes to return to Rotary.
