District 5050 is hosting a GSE visit from district 9930. They will be in our area first during their
tour. They arrive in our area on April 28th.

We will be having a joint meeting with the other clubs and the GSE team on the evening of May 1st.

The TriCities Clubs have been charged with looking after the NZ Team starting with a welcome at the Airport on 26th April and their transfer from their hotel to host families on 28th April.
Our proposed schedule from there is as follows:
28th April Pick up NZ Team from hotel and meet at a home in the TriCities for hand over to host families.
29th April NZ Team taken to UBC Museum of Anthropology and perhaps Nitobe Gardens
30th April Free day with host family then joint meeting of TriCities Clubs in the evening.
1st May Day trip for NZ Team to Whistler
2nd May Vocational Day.
3rd May Transfer of Team to Chilliwack.

Please poll your members to act as host families and also for volunteers to organize / host Vocational day where we are looking for interests in the following:

 

Team Leader:- Leonie is a CA working for a retail bank - interested in local government legislation, land subdivision and development, rural health initiatives.
Team Member:- Nadia is a Business Analyst / Project Manager for an Information Systems department - interested in her field as practised in private business with reference to change processes in public and private health settings.
Team Member:- Bruce is a claims supervisor at the Earthquake Commission processing claims form the Canterbury Earthquake - interested in meeting insurers and government organizations in regards to natural disaster insurance coverage and also personal injury law and workplace accident coverage.
Team Member:- Simone is a communications advisor in the marketing and communications department of a Crown Research Institute, a forestry, wood product and wood derivative materials science and technology organization. Interested in other organizations approach to internal communications, intranet development/maintenance and use of social media.
Team member:- Dan is an operations engineer for an international consulting engineering, architecture and planning firm - interested in construction contracts, visiting construction sites and forestry plantation.
Team Member:- Stephen is a farm consultant and interested in cattle systems and research.
