What a GREAT START to the Rotary year 2015-2016 with Trudy as our President. We had two new members inducted, Tony Whitham and Larry Smith...
Trudy's speech for this year was moving and very direct.....We will all want to help make this Rotary year a huge success.
The upcoming weekend is probably the most busy our Rotary Club will ever be with our first annual RIBFEST. Almost 100% of our members are joining us this coming weekend along with 220 volunteers from our great Community to make this a Signature Event.
Today our guests were: Elle Brovold, Mayor Mike Clay and the Chief of Police, Chis Rattenbury.
Chief Chris came out to thank us for the money that we donated to the Victim Services Room at our Port Moody Police Station.
Most of the 'buzz' of the meeting was about Ribfest and we are grateful for Ian MacPhail and
PP Al Stjernegaard the co-chairs for Port Moody RIBFEST. Everyone has worked hard on this event, BUT this has been a FULL TIME JOB for the two of them for months now.
Elle Brovold along with President Trudy have been managing the hundreds of volunteers from our Community. Everyone is doing an outstanding job.
Cleone presented Dan D with the Golden Block award today and Vida with the Golden brush award.
So many of our members have gone above and beyond. I won't try and mention them all because someone is always forgotten, but we all know who they are and we are so GRATEFUL......
Before you get this message, RibFest will be over and we will have a final report. OH MY GOSH.....I am SO EXCITED.
After the meeting today, Kathy Stjernegaard came to meet me and we cleaned up Heritage Mtn. Blvd. just before 11 guests arrive at their home for the weekend. Thank you Kathy......Guess what.....no clean up now until August.
