President Coreen's Rotary International Foundation message

Rotary’s Polio Challenge
Since 2013, the Gates Foundation has matched every $1 Rotary commits to polio eradication 2-to-1. In January 2020, the Gates Foundation announced that they will continue to match 2:1 every new dollar Rotary commits to polio eradication up to $50 million per year through 2023!
Rotary has contributed more than $2 billion to fight polio, including matching funds from the Gates Foundation, and countless volunteer hours since launching its polio eradication program, PolioPlus, in 1985.
Thank you for supporting Rotary and leveraging your generosity!
Glen Brown gave us an update on 'Go For Rotary'.  Donations and users are growing but remember that the biggest way for this event to grow is to sign people up.  Glen challenged us to spread the word and get people outside the club to sign up.  There is an early bird prize ($50 to Parkside Brewing) ...deadline is this Friday.  If anyone wants to donate without signing up, they can etransfer to Mike Berrisford at treasurer@portmoodyrotary.ca

Remember to sign up for the 'Go For Rotary' program, an online challenge to raise funds and promoting fitness, running, walking, and all sorts of yoga.  Go to www.bit.ly/GoForRotary
Register early and there are lots of prizes!

Guest Speaker: Gwen Gnazdowsky, One Conversation Coaching & Facilitation.  Gwen led us on a fantastic and engaging discussion on putting "fun" into fundraising.  She used dynamic tools such as Appreciative Inquiry and Interview Matrix to engage us and develop ideas and goals for our fundraising efforts.  We spent the latter half of the meeting discussing lots of improvements and suggestions.

We have a TROOPER among us !!!!
Brian Wormald deserves a medal as the 'only' member of our Rotary Club that showed up for RIPS on Saturday in the torrential rain .  Way to go Brian, and thank you to Angela Crampton [City of Port Moody] and Jack from the Interactors.  You guys ROCK.

A nice get together to hear 'Chapter 11'

Please keep Jeannie in your thoughts & Prayers.
We love you Jeannie !!!
What a beautiful letter from Jeannie......

My dear Rotary friends and Rotarian family

I recently found this photo that I took a while back and it seemed to me to be a perfect metaphor for how we and our club have weathered COVID over the past couple of years - I call it  "LEAVE YOUR LIGHT ON"  - funny, I never used give my photos names but this one seems appropriate 😊

The past couple of years - more? we as a club have been really restricted in our fundraising efforts because of COVID restrictions and yet the club has worked so hard to keep our light on and shining brightly, helping our community with new and creative ways of fundraising.

Even though my efforts and involvement have not been what they have in the past I am so proud to call myself a Port Moody Rotarian.

What a wonderful group of caring loving people you are whose focus in life is to improve the quality of the lives of others. I know I'm biased towards Port Moody Rotary but this applies to Rotary in general and around the world.

It's been an honor and a privilege to be part of this club for so long

Jeannie 😊❤️
