Rotary Club of Port Moody Foundation

405 - 220 Newport Drive

Port Moody, BC V3H 5B8

Dear Peter,

After leaving your meeting last week, I thought about what I said to your members by way of thanks for the club's considerable, long-standing generosity. I felt like I somehow left something out. Your club's support for the hospital and our manor has been extraordinary. The true value of the good you do to help those who pass the dusk of their lives at the manor or who seek medical services in our hospital cannot be measured. We profit every day from your well demonstrated sense of community. In everything you do, you live the Rotary motto of service above self.

It gives me great pride and satisfaction to advise you that with this year's gift of $15,910, the Rotary Club of Port Moody has enriched Eagle Ridge Hospital and Manor since 2001 by a total of $117,114.40. With this support, you bring comfort to the elderly and make sure the hospital has the equipment it needs when the sick and injured turn to us for help.

As I said at your meeting, I appreciate the great effort it takes to raise the funds you share with us. In an age when spare time is increasingly elusive, your members volunteer hundreds of leisure hours to make sure the club achieves its mission of service. As an aside, what you are doing to provision the third world is remarkable - further tribute to your magnificent citizenship. That you do these things as volunteers with no staff support sharpens our appreciation even more.

Please convey our heartfelt thanks to your members for the splendid support they so generously donate to the manor, the hospital and the entire community. Thank you too for the unflagging friendship and partnership that accompanies your gifts.

Sincerely,

David R. Clark

Executive Director
