Happy Thanksgiving on November 25th, to all our American friends and family.  We are grateful for our fellow Rotarians in District 5050.

Once again the Pub is full of our members and Zoomers from all over the world were at the meeting.  We missed Ian from Equador, but had members in South Africa, Phoenix, Palm Springs & Atlanta.

Our guests this week were:  Dr. Amber, Richard Biedka, Neil Nyberg from the Coquitlam Club.

CELEBRATE FOUNDATION MONTH WITH A GIFT
In November, Rotary members celebrate The Rotary Foundation. It’s a great time to share with your members how the Foundation transforms their gifts into service projects that change lives both close to home and around the world. Here are three more ways you can support the Foundation:
  1. Make a gift to our Annual Fund-SHARE on Giving Tuesday, 30 November. Last year, Rotary members contributed more than $800,000 for the occasion. Share our video message.
  2. Give the gift of Rotary to make an impact in communities around the world. Your gift helps create lasting change, from supplying filters that purify drinking water to empowering local entrepreneurs through business training.
  3. Start a fundraiser using our peer-to-peer fundraising tool, Raise for Rotary. You can create online fundraising pages to support the Foundation that are easy to share with family and friends through social media and email.

Rotary’s Areas of Focus (Part 1 of 2)

Rotary is dedicated to seven areas of focus to build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts and end polio forever.

  • Promoting peace: Rotary encourages conversations to foster understanding within and across cultures. We train adults and young leaders to prevent and mediate conflict and help refugees who have fled dangerous areas.

  • Fighting disease: We educate and equip communities to stop the spread of life-threatening diseases like polio, HIV/AIDS, and malaria. We improve and expand access to low-cost and free health care in developing areas.

  • Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene: We support local solutions to bring clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to more people every day. We don’t just build wells and walk away. We share our expertise with community leaders and educators to make sure our projects succeed long-term.

BOY oh Boy!!
We strung up about 900 ft of Christmas Lights in about 2.5 hrs.!!
When we started there was not a single light up  in both plaza's and the entire frontage of the Manor ( due to the roofer)
This was only made possible by a fantastic amount of Rotarians showing up. 18 of us!!!!
