Innervisions chili lunch

Oh my goodness I can't even tell you the excitement and good Christmas feeling we had at our Annual Chili lunch at Innervisions.
The men were just wonderful and we have some heartbreaking stories to tell, but they will all have a very happy ending.

Thank you to Alan S & Glen for doing all the shopping at Thrifty's, who donated all the food.

We always have so many volunteers and everyone chipped in.  It was AMAZING.

Thank you to the choppers, dishwashers, table setters, and the 'talkers'.  We all learned so much and we were Blessed to have Max, the CEO of Innervisions talk with us about their vision and how they run Innervisions operation.
Darrell we would love for Max to come to speak to us [in early January or late May as I would love to be there]

Chief Chef - Alan
Choppers and can openers were, Al S, Frank, Danne, & John,  Neil washed dishes while Bill filled the dishwashers and emptied it along with doing all the trash. they stayed long after we all left to clean up.   Dan G came to help.   Gayle, Monica, Cleone & Linda set the tables and served the food.  What a great team.
Also a huge big thank you to those that donated items for the gifts we gave the men this year.  The socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, gloves, & toques.  It was a huge contribution and we are grateful to each and everyone of you.
Thank you to those that came to help.  I am sure it was a wonderful start to your Christmas season.

Chamber of Commerce Christmas Luncheon

A few of us went to the Chamber of Commerce Christmas luncheon and had a wonderful time.  Rotary belongs to the Chamber and we are so lucky to have the CEO, Leslie Courchesne as a member of our Rotary Club.  Here are a couple of photos.

Nice to have Navid join us for our Groovy photo, myself, Alison, President Susan, Gayle, Victoria, Ramin and his beautiful wife Asiah.

Our Rotary Club sponsors Summer Sundays [www.summersundays.ca] each year and the 15th year Christmas Concert fundraiser was held last Saturday.  The Jake & Elwood Blue's Brothers Revue was the band and they were outstanding.  Thank you to everyone who came to support these very worthwhile community events held each Sunday - July - August from 2-4.

Our very own Danne Dunlop always volunteers for these concerts and this year we had Danne, Clayton and Monica help out, and Eric as the MC.  Great job.

sorry Monica, I did not get you in the photo.

Reminder !!!  Please don't forget to buy your favourite beverages for Christmas at the Port Moody Liquor Store and tell them it is for Port Moody Rotary Club.  We will get 4% of all purchases.

Christmas at Eagle Ridge Manor - Cleone
There were lots of smiles at Eagle Ridge  Manor as  Santa filled the hall with his HO HO HO's.

Hugh Mitchell  is the perfect Santa, not only does he look exactly right but his heart is exactly right. Monica helped him get his gloves on and got the jolly Christmas cakes, punch and tea ready and served up to the seniors at the party. We were soooo lucky because Coreen Rodger Berrisford put the Rotary apron on and helped as well. We all danced and sang and it was a lovely party! We were even able to deliver the pictures that the residents took with Santa on the same day. They will be able to enjoy those pictures the whole season. Thanks to all that volunteered and to the staff and volunteers at the Manor.

Merry Christmas everyone!
