We packed our container to East London, South Africa on Saturday morning. We had a good turnout and the packing went as well as it always does, thanks to our loadmaster, Dan Gallant.  We had an unexpected dump of snow but it was short-lived and didn’t seem to have any impact on our productivity or ability to have fun working together for Rotary.

The Rotary World Help Network does an amazing job and it seems to me as if Dan & Co work at it every day.  Even after the container was packed on Saturday, the warehouse was still full.

The RWHN received a donation from IBM for $5000 with a possibility of a further donation.  This is will help a lot and it is truly appreciated!

Due to a power failure we had to cancel our club meeting last week but we gathered at the Coquitlam Grill from breakfast and a fun time was had by all.  Unfortunately, we couldn’t accommodate our speaker, Martin Wyant of Share Food Bank but we’ll have him back soon.

Please take note of the New Generations Seminar which takes place on February 11th.  If you are interested, please let me know or go to www.district5050.org

RYLA registration opens tomorrow.  Please register online.

Please come and support our exchange student Henriette tomorrow morning. She is going to talk to us about her experiences in Canada as well as her home country. It looks like she is having a good year.

Rotarians at Work happens on the last Saturday in April each year.  This is a hands-on project that all members can help with.  We received an offer from a relative of someone who resides at the Manor who is interested in helping us to improve the gardens at the Manor. If anyone is interested in helping with this, please contact Cleone.

Remember, many hands make light work!
