As indicated by the 23 of 52, we are rushing towards the halfway mark of my presidency. I had great plans to make this a special year, as I am sure every president who came before me, did too.  Unfortunately, life sometimes gets in the way of the best laid plans and unless we make a major effort to change that, nothing will happen and I plan to change that. Thanks for being so patient with me.

I received a document from Gary Wiggins, that is full of good ideas for each of the avenues of service.  I'll be meeting with Al Stjernegaard and the committee chairs as soon as is convenient to work on some of those ideas. I know this is a busy time of year but I promise not to take up too much of your time.

This week is our AGM and we get to elect our board members for the 2012-13 year. I have circulated an agenda with the names of those individuals that have agreed to let their names stand. There is also a proposal to increase our annual dues by $10.  These dues have not increased for four years and as you know, the cost of living is on the increase. I had a meeting today with all the presidents of our zone and it seems that our fees are very reasonable.

This week we also have our chili lunch for Innervisions. I have done this every year and find it a really rewarding experience. The guys are very appreciative of the fact that we are willing to give up our time to come and spend a few hours with them. Their stories are sad but also a testament to how we can recover our lives after going through tough times. All we can give is a little helping hand and sometimes that is all it takes.

I'm looking forward to our Christmas party on Friday. We are all about business but sometimes we just enjoy each others company.

This is a fun time of the year for most of us but remember there are others who need a hand and many hands make light work!
